Bíonn mé ag imirt cluichí leis na paistí. Glanaim an seomra tar eis an lón gach Ceadaoin. Tá Katie agus Ciara ag obair in eineacht liom. Taitníonn an phost liom agus ba mhaith liom an sórt oibre a bheith sa todhchaí.

Mini Company :)

   Today, all Ty's went on another Mini Company trip but this time it was to Newbridge in the White Water Center . It was just our school and one other this time. We met Orla again and each marketing person from each company had to tell her what we have done so far and who our target market is and she asked other questions too :) .Unfortunately she did not get to our group, so we don't know what she thinks of our idea, as we have changed it from the last time!!!Our Mini Company is Hair Coture which i told you about in my other mini company blog! Its a step by step book of hairstyles! She also showed us two really cheesy films about business etiquette . After we got some pictures taken of us too!

  Our teachers then gave us the extra 40 minutes to get some lunch in the food court and have a look around some shops. We then walked to meet the bus. We were back for the last few classes but overall it was a good day and I cannot wait to get our mini company selling. Hopefully we will have them selling before Christmas! :)

IT :)

 Today in IT , we learnt how to embed a video onto our blog post. I chose the song 'Dear Darlin' By Olly Murs.

The Simon Community :)

On Thursday all Ty's gathered into the library for a talk on the Simon Community. It was very interesting and I learnt a lot about the organisation. There are houses spread out in a number of counties in Ireland just for homeless people to go when they have nowhere else to sleep for the night.. A lot of activities take place in these houses also.

The teacher giving us this talk had volunteered with them over the summer and she was sent to a particular house to work with the people in it. Her main project was Art where the people in the house designed a canvas painting.The paintings she showed us were really good, and it showed so such effort was put into them.

I learnt that many people give up their time to volunteer with the Simon community to do other activities just like this. :)

F1 :)

  This week we have been doing our technology project which is called F1. Basically we have to deign a car along with a five page plan and enter it into a competition. My group and I put a lot of work into it and I think it looks well. It has to be completed on a word document and sent by this Friday the 23rd. Our group name is called SLEEK as it is composed of our initials of our first name; Sarah, Lisa, Eve, Elizabeth, Katie. We each did 1 page  each and we put it together and sent it yesterday. If we get accepted as only two groups will from the year we will get through to the next round! 

Mini Company Again :)

  Yesterday all Transition Year students took off to the Odeon Cinema in Naas for Our Mini Company Project.! There was also three other schools attending this meeting. A representative from the board of enterpreneurs came to inform us that Orla the woman in charge of the Leinster projects was taken into hospital that morning. Despite the bad news , we were delighted as we were told we were being shown the new James Bond movie ''Skyfall''.

After the film we were all delighted that we had got to see the movie and as we left the theatre we were given a 'goodie' bag filled with popcorn,sweets and a madagascar cup. We were also given a drink as well, much to our delight. We had a great journey home as everyone was all talk about how generous it was to be given free stuff let alone the movie. We all really enjoyed the film and the goodies was a great top off! We all had an amazing time as we werent expecting any of it! :)

H A L L O W E E N :)

 

    Yesterday was Our dress up day for halloween! Since I'm in Ty are year got given the theme of Zombies!!! Lots Of the girls made a huge effort and It was a great day!
    Eve did Aoibhinn's , Shauna's and my face paint yesterday morning and she did a really good job! :) Rachael and Emma represented our class in the Halloween parade at lunchtime but unfortunetly they did'nt win. It was a good day and everybody looked really good! We now have our mid-term break for a week :)
