Mini Company :)

  On Monday, all Ty students had to present their mini company projects in the hall. Two judges came to look at the projects to see if any of them will get through to the competition.  We had to present our book 'Hair Couture'. We had our display set up with everything we did/used. The judges came around to each group and had a look at the display. After that, Each group had to stand up in the middle of the hall and present their company to the judges and the rest of Ty :) Everybody was slightly nervous but we all got through it in the end. When we had finished telling them about our companies, they asked us a few questions about it. 
  The judges took 5-10 minutes to decide if anyone would get through to the competition. Our group got awarded the innovation award for my class. We also got short listed for the competition along with three other groups. We were absolutely delighted as all our hard work had paid off. We will now have to wait and see if we get through :)

Teddy Bear :)

This week in Ty design , we started to make a teddy bear. I am using a cotton material with a floral design on it, which is a peach and brown colour. So far we have traced out the pattern pieces and cut them out. We then pinned them onto our material and I am now in the process of cutting the pieces out. We are also making the teddy a waistcoat with our partners material!
I say we will start sewing the pieces together this coming Monday :) I am really looking forward to seeing it complete even though it wont be for a while! :)

Young Scientist :)

 Yesterday, all Ty's and 2nd years attended the BT Young Scientist Exhibtion in the Rds In Dublin. We went for the whole day and we had a good time. There was one group from our year that was in it and they did there project on 'the effects of school bags on the shoulder, neck and spine'. I think a few other groups entered but they were the only one's that made it to the exhibition. 



 My friends and I wandered about the Rds looking at the different projects and the experiments. We got some free stuff too and we entered into some competitions with the different organisations. We saw some good projects, including topics such as; lying,mean girls, effects of heels, abilities of hamster and much more. There was many interesting projects there, and I am looking forward to see who wins tonight, as they hold an award ceremony today as it's the last day. We had our lunch in the canteen with loads of different schools and had one last quick look around before we had to meet back with the teachers and the rest of the school! :) I had a great day out and it was really enjoyable! :)
